They have been used to alleviate the suffering of children and refugees in Syria and Iraq.
The United Nations estimates that nearly one-third of the world’s population relies on the plants for sustenance.
The plant is grown in various countries and can be harvested at home or in the field.
But the United States is one of the few countries that doesn’t require growers to register and obtain licenses to grow the plants in the United State.
