By Brian SciarettaCNNMoney — A big pot of coffee beans at Costco is a possibility, as the grocery chain is eyeing an expansion of its food delivery service.
“We are in the process of looking at expansion plans for the food service at Costco, as well as possibly looking at expanding our delivery network,” Costco spokesperson Michelle Graziano told CNNMoney on Monday.
“It’s a possibility that there may be opportunities to expand the distribution of coffee and coffee products in the store,” Graziani added.
Costco has already added three locations to its food service network.
The first location opened last year in the Seattle area and now has three locations in California, New York and New Jersey.
Costoressi said the company is exploring options for additional expansion.
“The Costco network is so strong,” she said.
“We are seeing that we can continue to grow our business and grow our workforce, and we are excited to look into expanding the service.”
Costco recently announced a new food delivery business with Amazon, which will offer food at a reduced cost.
The company also announced plans to buy a controlling stake in a small coffee chain, as it looks to expand its food business.
Costonessi said she could not comment on how Costco plans to expand beyond its food network, but said the store could soon expand beyond coffee.
“Our store is very focused on our coffee and food business,” she told CNN.
“I can’t speak to whether that will be expanded.”
Costofans new plan is to add a new service, like its food program, which was previously only available to people who signed up for the Costco Food Service Program.
The Costco food service program allows customers to order food and take it home, and then deliver it to their homes for a price that is similar to that of regular grocery.
Costco said it has more than 6 million customers.
“This will be Costco’s second food service option, and they’ve had great success with their first,” Graffin said.
The company also has plans to sell its groceries online, including in Walmart stores.
Costo currently has about 20 million members and is the second-largest retailer in the U.S.
Graziano said Costco is considering opening a second location in New York City.
Costco is also working on an expansion into California.
The plan is also likely to be a “bigger picture” of Costco, Grazio said, because the company plans to increase its food sales to a $20 billion market by 2020.
